Police still investigating woman's death at lake

TRANSFER, PA.

Police said they are still investigating the death of a Hubbard woman who was pulled from the Shenango Reservoir Thursday morning.

Pymatuning Township police said they believe Jean Black, 56, was trying to rescue her two dogs when she broke through the ice and fell through the water. A news release said she was recovered from the reservoir by township police, the Army Corps of Engineers and the Transfer Fire Department about 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police found her vehicle parked near the recreation area along West Lake Road.

Police said Black was known to visit the park to walk her dogs.

Officers said they do not suspect any foul play, and the incident appears to be accidental.
