Man faces charges

Boardman

A Ridgway, Pa., man faces multiple charges, accused of fighting with police and disturbing other visitors at a Tiffany South hotel.

Charlie Ray Allegretto, 29, is charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest, assault on a police officer and disorderly conduct. He was in the Mahoning County jail.

Police were called to the Fairfield Inn about 2 a.m. Friday on a report of a disturbance. Allegretto was staying at the hotel with his girlfriend, and they were arguing.

When police went to the room, Allegretto grabbed one of the officers by the neck and pushed him toward the wall. He also struggled with police as they tried to handcuff him.

Fire damages home

BAZETTA

A child and an adult made it out of a house fire without injury at 8:37 a.m. Friday at 2289 Bianca Lane, which is west of state Route 46 and south of Tamer Win Golf and Country Club.

The fire did considerable damage to a second-floor bedroom. The house also suffered heat and smoke damage throughout, the Bazetta Fire Department said, though a damage estimate was not available.

The two residents got out before firefighters arrived. They received assistance from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, and the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting in the investigation.

The Cortland, Howland and Air Force Reserve Station Fire Department assisted.
