Society presents Cattle Baron’s Ball

The American Cancer Society will sponsor the seventh annual Cattle Baron’s Ball from 7 to 11 p.m. March 23 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St.

Joe Mineo of Something New Florist will be the master of ceremonies for the western-themed evening, which will include gourmet dining, live and silent auctions, music by Brian Price and fun-filled activities.

A VIP celebration for honorees and sponsors from 6 to 7 p.m. will precede the event.

Honorees for this year are cancer survivors Anna Aey, co-founder of Yellow Brick Place, a cancer wellness center; Chief John Beshara, Youngstown State University Chief of Police; and Ava Timko, child survivor of acute myeloid leukemia. Dr. Lakshmi Perni, director of the Center for Breast Health at ValleyCare, and Dr. V.C. Perni, an anesthesiologist, will be honored for their medical contributions to the community.

This year’s chairwomen are Carole Weimer and Sandy Zians. Co-chairwomen are Annette Camacci and Kathie Weinberg.

Proceeds will fund programs such as Reach for Recovery, Patient Navigator and Clinical Trials Matching programs. Sponsors are Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bruno and the Something New Florist.
