Woman, grandson escape Austintown house fire

AUSTINTOWN

A woman and her grandson escaped unharmed from a 2:40 p.m. fire at the home at 6835 New Road near Turner Road Friday.

Firefighters say the fire started in the kitchen, but the cause is undetermined. It caused about $67,000 in damage. The Cardinal Joint Fire District assisted.
