Austintown man dies

VIENNA

Dale C. Johnstone, 60, of Kimberly Avenue in Austintown died in a single-car accident on Belmont Avenue just north of Crew-Hood Road at 4:53 p.m. Friday.

Johnstone, who was alone in the car, was northbound on 193 when the car went left, crossed over the southbound lanes and hit a tree. He was trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed with a mechnanical device.

He was pronounced dead later at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate, but it appears Johnstone was not wearing a seat belt.
