Murry jailed

WARREN

Orlonzo Murry, 26, was back in Trumbull County on Tuesday night and on video arraignment Wednesday morning on a gun charge police say is connected to the New Year’s Day shooting death at the Sunset Lounge.

Judge Terry Ivanchak of Warren Municipal Court entered an innocent plea for Murry, of Bennett Avenue Northwest, to a felony charge of possession of a firearm in liquor premises.

Judge Ivanchak ordered that Murry remain in Trumbull County jail without eligibility to make bond until a bond hearing at 10:15 a.m. Friday.

Warren police drove to Columbus Tuesday and brought Murry back.

Police say Murry is not a suspect in the shooting death of Cory Blackwell, 25, of Warren, but he is a “person of interest,” and police wanted to talk to him about the case.

Dogs rescued

BERLIN CENTER

Numerous dogs living in filthy conditions were found by the Mahoning County dog warden at a kennel in Berlin Township, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, the newspaper’s broadcast partner.

All of the dogs will survive, but they were very dirty. The woman who runs the kennel hasn’t been able to properly clean and care for them because she is 34 weeks’ pregnant.

The bigger dogs weren’t letting the smaller ones eat food and a water hose was frozen, according to WFMJ.

No charges had been filed Wednesday, the day the dogs were found.
