OSHP troopers seize heroin, Rx pills in Allen County

LIMA, Ohio — A married couple from Kenton, Ohio, faces felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 165 individually wrapped units of heroin, 18 Oxycodone pills and 66 Xanax pills, worth more than $107,000 after a traffic stop Monday in Allen County.

The Lima Post received a call of a possible impaired driver on State Route 309. Troopers responded to the area and stopped a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis, with Ohio registration, for a left of center violation on State Route 309, near Bowman Road in Bath Township at 5:27 p.m.

The driver, Keith M. Whitmore, 54, was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired. During a search, the trooper located the pills and $650 on Whitmore. Upon contact with the driver’s wife, Kelly M. Whitmore, 35, she produced the individually wrapped heroin.

Both suspects were incarcerated in the Allen County Jail, and charged with possession of heroin, a second-degree felony.
