NFL scouts take a look at YSU football standouts


YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University running back Jamaine Cook, tight end Will Shaw, guard Lamar Mady, center Mark Pratt and defensive tackle Aronde Stanton worked out Tuesday for Pro Day at the WATTS.

Scouts from at least 10 teams were on hand including the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Diego Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers.

Cook, Pratt and Stanton each benched pressed 225 pounds 23 times and Shaw did so 24 times. Mady stood on his 35 reps from last month's NFL combine.

Shaw ran a 4.69 40, Cook had a 4.71.
