The Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s office has lifted the boil advisory issued last week for Madeline Drive, Catherine Street, Connelly Road, Lee Industries, Roemer Industries, Warren Fabricating and Ohio Steel Sheet & Plate.

6-year-old dies

ALLIANCE

Test results are pending on the cause of death of a 6-year-old Homeworth girl who died early Friday at Alliance Community Hospital.

The child’s parents took her to the hospital earlier that day, and the Stark County Coroner’s office said the girl had been experiencing flulike symptoms.

An autopsy was conducted Friday, and lab work is pending.

Maple syrup day

SALEM

The Northeastern Ohio Forestry Association is sponsoring a field day at Misty Maple Sugar House, 10644 W. Middletown Road, near Greenford, east of Route 45, from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and at the same time March 16.

Those participating can walk in the woods to see a tubing gathering system and then go to the sugar house to see how pure maple syrup is made. Participants are urged to come dressed for winter weather, and they can also have ice cream with hot maple syrup straight from the evaporator.

Warren man arrested

WARREN

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested a Warren man in Columbus early Sunday and a source told Vindicator broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV, that he’s wanted for questioning in a New Year’s Day shooting inside the Sunset Lounge.

Marshals arrested Orlonzo Murry, 26, on a warrant from Warren police accusing him of having a firearm in a liquor establishment, according to the station.

Police found Cory Blackwell, 25, of Randolph Street Northwest unresponsive with gunshot wounds early New Year’s Day in front of the Sunset Lounge, 480 E. Market St. He later was pronounced dead.

Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk ruled Blackwell’s death a homicide from multiple gunshot wounds. Police discovered that shots had been fired inside the bar near the dance floor before finding Blackwell’s body.
