‘The Shadow Box’ opens at Playhouse

YOUNGSTOWN

“The Shadow Box” opens tonight at the Youngstown Playhouse’s Moyer Room, part of the Griffith-Adler Series of cutting-edge plays.

In this dramatic triptych, three terminal cancer patients dwelling in separate cottages on hospital grounds are attended and visited by family and close friends

Chris Fidram is directing. The cast includes David El’Hatton, Donna Huntley, Jason Green, Dana Dunnavant, Tricia Terlesky, Eric Kibler, Cyndi Plyler, Donny Wolford and Taylor Dunnavant.

Performances will be at 7:30 tonight and Saturday and March 8 and 9. Seating is limited, and reservations are suggested. Call 330-788-8739.

Morning Star at St. Patrick’s

Youngstown

Christian music group Morning Star will perform a free one-hour concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick Church, Oak Hill Avenue. Morning Star consists of Paige Lape, Libby Tabaka, Gina Fire and Priscilla Beck, plus Tony Lape on percussion. Free-will offerings will be accepted. Call 330-743-1109.
