Robinwood Elementary School celebrated Valentine’s Day with school-wide parties Feb. 14.
In one classroom, students put their desks in a circle so they could share valentines. They used their American Sign Language skills to sign Happy Valentine’s Day to people coming into their classroom.
Students in this classroom also played games using candy hearts. The game involved signing or acting out a message written on a candy heart. If someone in the class guessed the answer correctly, the person acting it out got to eat the candy and the person who guessed it took their place as the next to act out a message on the heart.
In another classroom, students ate cupcakes and sundaes while reading their valentines. Students played games, talked and looked at each other’s valentine’s boxes.
“My favorite part of Valentine’s Day is that people come together,” said Lillie Jones, a student at Robinwood Elementary School. “I mean, I like the candy and the valentines, but I think it’s really great that people can just be together and enjoy one another’s company.”
