ASSOCIATIONS

Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will crown its 2013 Woman of the Year at a dinner at 6:30 p.m. March 12 at Cafe Capri in Boardman. She will represent the chapter at the fall convention in Little Rock, Ark. The meal will consist of mixed green salad, roast beef au jus, chicken francaise, penne pasta, garlic buttered potatoes, Tuscan bread, beverage and dessert for $19. The guest speaker will be Heide M. Daniels, the new director of the Mahoning Library. Reservations must be made by Tuesday by calling Kathy Anderson at 330-533-6675 after 4 p.m.

Tri-Gold Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet March 13 at The Manor, 46 Kirk Road, Canfield. A social will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a buffet at 6 consisting of baked chicken, penne pasta and meatballs, red skin potatoes, mixed vegetables, salad and beverage. McDonald Baseball Association will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday in the community room at the post office building.

Girard Band Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school cafeteria.

McDonald Basketball Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the high school cafeteria.

McDonald Music Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the high school.

CLASSES

Campbell Memorial High School January and June classes of 1948 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s on Route 224 in Boardman. All classmates and spouses are invited.

Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1950 will meet for lunch at noon Wednesday at Bedford Trails.

Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1955 will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at What’s Cookin at the Mathews Road Plaza in Boardman for breakfast. Class members, spouses and guests are welcome.

Wilson High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 10 am. Wednesday at Landmark Restaurant, 7424 Market St., Boardman. Classmates and guests are welcome.

CLUBS

Mahoning Valley Civil War Round Table will meet at 6:30 p.m. March 11 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, Boardman. Gail Stephens, tour guide at Monocacy National Battlefield, will present “The Shadow of Shiloh: Major-General Lew Wallace in the Civil War.” Dinner is $13 per person, and reservations are required. Poland Center Homemakers will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Friendly’s in Poland.

Round Table Woodcarvers will meet from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Wood and the use of tools will be provided, and carving lessons will be free. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Poland Library will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Poland Library. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m.; a program and business meeting will follow. Hostesses will be Marian Gillette, Angela Bilkie, Carol McCoy and Peg Shirey. Leslie Viczay will present the program, “Imperial Russia.” Reservations for the April 2 luncheon can be made at this meeting; payment must be received by March 18. Donations of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs will be accepted for the book cart. The meetings are open to the public, and new members are welcome. Membership is $5 per year.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

Community Christian Women will meet March 11 at First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., Columbiana. Suzanne Horvath and Ginny Perkins will present “The Life of Jesus” in song. The meeting will begin with a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. for $6. Reservations should be made with your church representative by Thursday. Seton III will meet for a luncheon at noon March 14 at the Saxon Club, Meridian Road. The Rev. Timothy O’Neil will be the speaker, and the theme is “Irish.” Those attending are asked to wear green. Hostesses are Helen Golden and Sue Williams.

St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the parish house.

Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection will meet for a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 13 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. The theme is “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Music will be by Kaitlyn Cook, and the guest speaker will be Janice Hetrick on “Life is what happens when you’re planning something else.” Cost is $13 and includes lunch.
