Safe Sitter baby-sitting classes set for July, August

Humility of Mary Health Partners is offering its Safe Sitter baby-sitting program from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 17-18 at St. Elizabeth Health Center, 1044 Belmont Ave., Youngstown; and July 30-31 and Aug. 15-16 at St. Joseph Health Center, 667 Eastland Ave., Warren.

Students must attend both days of the course, which is open to boys and girls ages 11 to 13.

Safe Sitter teaches responsible child care and prepares baby-sitters for emergency situations with first aid, rescue breathing, instances of choking, accident prevention and calling for help.

Students role-play scenarios they might encounter while watching a child without adult supervision.

The program costs $28.50 per child. Scholarships are available to those unable to pay. Registration is required. For information or to register, call 330-480-3070.
