Several area college students have earned academic honors and recognition at their respective schools. Some of those recognized:

Youngstown State University

Sisters Gianna Marie Colucci and Jenna Christine Colucci, both of Youngs-town, have accepted membership into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Jenna is majoring in pre-law and Gianna is a pre-med student. NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first- and second-year college students. Membership is by invitation only and is based on grade-point average and class standing.

Jordan Nicole Watt of Salem has accepted membership into NSCS and also has been recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, National Leadership and Honors Organization at YSU. Sigma Alpha Lambda is a national leadership and honors organization dedicated to promoting and rewarding academic achievement and providing members with opportunities for community service, personal development and lifelong professional fulfillment.

Ohio University

Matthew James Franklin of Youngstown has been recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, National Leadership and Honors Organization.
