Annual fireworks Sat. at fairgrounds

CANFIELD

The annual Fireworks Fest at Canfield Fairgrounds will take place today, hosted by Canfield Rotary.

The gates open at 5 p.m. The cost is $5 per car for parking.

Fireworks with music will be the feature at 10 p.m.

There also will be fair food, music, games and entertainment for the kids, including eight bounce-a-rounds and face-painting.

Local bands J.D. Eicher, Magma Project and Dickey White will perform.

Zambelli Fireworks is supplying the pyrotechnic display. The rain date will be Sunday with the same time schedule.

Missing gravestones

BOARDMAN

A Boardman man and his mother paid $3,115.98 for three gravestones but have yet to receive them.

The man told police Thursday a person told him the stones were delivered to a facility in Vermont to be engraved and that the stones aren’t available, according to a report. He was told he would receive the stones as soon as the person is released from a rehabilitation hospital where he is being treated for alcohol abuse. A police report was filed.
