Monte Carlo pulled from McKelvey Lake

YOUNGSTOWN — Crews recovered a car today in McKelvey Lake that was found Sunday by a dive team from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office.

William Hack, head of the dive team, said divers were making practice dives Sunday when they found the car in 27 feet of water about 30 yards into the lake.

City police were notified, and they came out today as the car was hauled out of the lake.

Sheriff Jerry Greene said the car is a Monte Carlo, and investigators were checking it to see if there was anything inside that may be linked to a possible crime. He said nothing was found.
