McFeaters, Hearns among latest Greatest junior qualifiers

HERMITAGE, PA. — Abigail Hearns, whose sister Rosy was a 2012 champion, qualified Friday for the junior finals of the Greatest Golfer of the Valley presented by Farmers National Bank.

Abigail shot a round of 88 to earn one of two available spots in the girls 15-17 division during a qualifying tournament at Tam O'Shanter Golf Course. Fontaine McFeaters (85) grabbed the other qualifying spot. McFeaters' score matched the best of the day in the division, 85s by Rachel Williamson and Kerra Loomis, who had qualified for the finals previously.

Joey Shushok (80) and Bradley Miller (81) qualified in the boys 15-17 division. Miller earned his spot by beating Nolan Snyder in a playoff.

Emily Koehler (102) and Emily Marcavish (115) qualified in the girls 12-14 division. Hannah Keffler (93) previously qualified.

Joey Vitali (91) and Marshall Huddleston (94) qualified in the boys 12-14 division.

The junior finals of the Greatest Golfer of the Valley presented by Farmers National Bank are set for July 28 at Trumbull Country Club in Warren.

Diamond Back Golf Course will host another girls qualifier on Monday and a boys qualifier on Tuesday. Tamer Win Golf & Country Club will host a boys qualifier on Monday, July 8 and a girls qualifier on Friday, July 12.
