The Poland library loved Legos on June 12 at the Lego My Library event. Children, ages 6 and up, created Lego designs with tools provided by the library.

Vikki Peck, children’s librarian said this event is popular.

“The kids really like it,” said Peck.

The Lego play allows the children to use a different part of their brain.

“Some of the kids are really serious about it,” said Peck. “They make some really neat things.”

Peck said that the purpose of events like Lego My Library is to get people into the library.

“We want people to feel comfortable in the library,” said Peck.

Georgia McKee attended the event with her two daughters and niece.

“We’re at the library at least once a week, the girls love it,” said McKee.

The lego creations that are made by participants are displayed in the library until the next Lego event.

Lego My Library is offered once a month at the Poland library.
