The case of a man and woman accused of taking part in a shootout in December inside a Terrace Drive home in Boardman has been continued.

Judge Lou D’Apolito of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday reset pretrial dates for Doretha Weston, 36, of Miller Street and Keymonnie Harris, 22, of Blackburn Street in Campbell.

They both were indicted on felonious assault and kidnapping charges for a Dec. 15 shootout during a home invasion.

Judge D’Apolito told attorneys if the cases cannot be resolved by the next pretrial date, he will schedule a trial.

A new date had not been set as of late Wednesday.

Defense lawyers and the county prosecutor’s office are trying to reach plea deals, and the judge said he would continue the case one more time to see if they can work something out.

The charges stem from a shooting in which the homeowner told police the two broke in and Harris fired at the homeowner, who fired back with a gun he had.

Harris was hit in the head and arm and was captured as he tried to run away near Southern Boulevard and Willow Drive, police said.
