Brilex, Valerus to showcase Youngstown production facility today

YOUNGSTOWN

Houston-based Valerus and Youngstown’s Brilex Industries will welcome local and state officials, members of the business community and the news media for a tour of its fabrication facility on Andrews Avenue today.

The partnership between Valerus, which provides oil- and gas-production equipment, and manufacturer Brilex was announced last November. The partnership has created 10 jobs since then, and increased production at the facility is expected to create 30 more jobs soon.

The high-profile tour is the city’s third in less than two months after Houston-based Exterran officially opened its Salt Springs Road facility in May and Vallourec Star had a dedication ceremony at its new seamless-pipe mill earlier this month. Both companies also are involved in the oil- and gas-supply chain.

Brilex is escalating orders for oil- and gas-production equipment at the request of Valerus that will be designed and manufactured in Youngstown and shipped across the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays.

The partnership was formed so that Brilex could serve operators in those plays more quickly and efficiently.

Top executives from both Valerus and Brilex will make comments and discuss the facility’s work.
