Butler Midyear opens Sunday

YOUNGSTOWN

The Butler Institute of American Art’s 77th annual National Midyear Show opens Sunday with an artists reception from 1 to 3 p.m. and an awards ceremony at 2 p.m.

The event is free, but reservations are required. Call 330-743-1107, ext. 210, to reserve.

The winners will be revealed Sunday.

This year, 835 items were entered by 312 artists. A total of 90 works, created by 77 artists, were accepted. Thirteen artists had two pieces selected.

Entries came from 20 states, including California, Florida, Arizona, Massachusetts and New York. Ohio is represented by 34 artists, and 13 Pennsylvania artists are included in the show.
