Feds indict 17 in drug dealings in Youngstown, Akron, Columbus

YOUNGSTOWN

U.S. Attorney For The Northern District of Ohio Steven M. Dettelbach announced this morning that 17 people have been indicted by a federal grand jury for distributing cocaine, marijuana and heroin in Youngstown, Akron and Columbus.

All 17 face charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, heroin and marijuana and four other people face charges of maintaining a premises for the purposes of distributing and using controlled substances.

There are also 52 counts charging the defendants with using a telephone to facilitate drug trafficking.

Ten of the 17 indicted are from Youngstown, as well as one person from Farrell, Pa., and one from Sharon, Pa. Two people from Akron were indicted and one person from Tempe, Ariz. and one from Cheraw, S.C.

The indictment alleges the drug ring operated from Sept. 6, 2011, to March 15, 2012.
