#VindyGreatest juniors roll at Salem: Butler, Jondas, Avery, Jacobson, Braydich, Loomis, Flaviano

It was a hot and hilly test of wills today at Salem Golf Club for the third leg of the Greatest Golfer of the Valley juniors qualifier series.

Presented by Farmers National Bank, Monday was the third of six qualifiers before the July 28 championship at Trumbull Country Club.

The remaining qualifiers are:

• Friday at Tam O’Shanter. Register deadline is Tuesday.

• July 1 (Girls) and July 2 (Boys) at Diamondback. Deadline is Friday.

• July 8 (Boys) and July 12 (Girls) at Tamer Win. Deadline is July 5 (boys) and July 9 (Girls)

Qualifying Monday from Salem were:

In the Girls 15-17, it was Cait Butler carding an 80, and Kerra Loomis shooting an 84. They join Christina Cooper, Rachel Williamson, Melinda Hannon and Alexis Cadle in the finals.

In the Boys 15-17, it was Avery Andric with a 79 and Nicholas Braydich with an 83. They join Bill Colbert, Jason McQuown, Gerry Booze and Donavan Ray in the finals.

The two younger divisions played 9 holes.

In the Boys 12-14, it was Zach Jacobson shooting a 44 to lead the field, with Bobby Jonda firing a 46.

They will join Ken Keller, Cole Christman, Cade Kreps and Jared Wilson in the finals.

In the Girls 12-14, Maura Flaviano shot 49 while Britney Jonda shot 54.

They will join Kaci Carpenter, Hannah Keffler, Hadley Spielvogel and Jenna Vivo in the finals.
