Staff report

Batavia, n.y.

Connor Burke hit a chopper over a drawn-in infield in the bottom of the 10th inning to snap a tie and give the Batavia Muckdogs a 2-1 victory over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in a New York-Penn League game Saturday night.

Scrappers reliever Ben Heller came on in the 10th and walked Chad Wallach, then gave up a single to Carlos Lopez as pinch-runner Luis Ortiz took third.

Heller then intentionally walked J.T. Riddle before Burke’s RBI single won the game for Batavia (3-3).

Juan Romero homered in the top of the sixth for the only run for the Scrappers (2-4).
