YOUNGSTOWN

At its annual meeting June 8 in Toledo, the Ohio Council of Deliberation, 32nd Masons of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, chose Dale E. Hawkins of Youngstown and James B. Parker IV of Canfield to receive the meritorious service award for outstanding service to the Scottish Rite. The award is one of the most prestigious in Masonry.

Hawkins is a past master of Argus Lodge 545 Free & Accepted Masons in Canfield and has been a member of the Valley of Youngstown, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, taking leadership roles while earning degrees.

He is chairman of the committee that seeks members’ participation in many nonspeaking parts in the degrees.

Parker is a past master of Youngstown Lodge 615, now Wick Lodge 481, F&AM in Youngstown, and has been a member of the Valley of Youngstown for more than 30 years.

He served in many offices and is an officer of Hiram Lodge of Perfection as well as chairman of registration of the Valley of Youngstown.
