A Howland woman has been crowned Miss Ohio.
The Mansfield News Journal reported that Heather Wells, 23, Miss Montgomery County, was crowned Miss Ohio on Saturday night.
Wells will go on to compete for the Miss America title in Atlantic City.
Wells is the daughter of Andrea and Dennis Wells of Howland and a 2007 Howland High School graduate.
Saturday marked Wells’ sixth appearance at the Miss Ohio pageant, and she beat 22 other competitors to take the crown, the newspaper reported. Seniors events

Jameson Health System’s third annual Run For Your Heart: Fireworks Day 5k/10k Walk/Run is July 13 at Jameson Hospital South Campus, 1000 S. Mercer St. The race starts at 9 a.m.
Registration can be done online at www.jamesonhealth.org/runforyourheart. A registration form can also be downloaded, printed and sent by mail. Race-day registration is from 7:30 to 8:50 a.m.
Proceeds from the event, sponsored by the Jameson Junior Guild and The Jameson Hospital Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease, will benefit the program and contribute to enhanced patient services at Jameson Hospital.
