Black bear reported in Champion, second in Valley today

CHAMPION

Residents reported seeing a black bear in Champion this afternoon, including a sighting at Cranberry Hills Golf Course.

Trumbull County 911 dispatchers said the bear was seen on Carrolwood Drive about noon, then it ran across the golf course fairway about 12:20 p.m. and was seen again about 12:45 p.m. on State Road between Mahoning and Champion avenues.

In Mahoning County, officials continue their search today for a large black bear spotted in Canfield this morning and Boardman this afternoon.
