Poland Union Elementary School hosted a fun day June 6 for students and staff.

Students had the opportunity to play 12 different games, such as Angry Birds, enjoy some Kona Ice and even attempted to dunk Mike Masucci, the school principal. Students also utilized Union’s green house to plant seeds in pots and brought them home as souvenirs of the day.

Students completed a pillowcase craft and had their classmates autograph it.

Michelle Ray, PTO vice president, said fun day is all about the students.

“It’s a day for the kids to enjoy themselves before the end of the year,” said Ray.

Ray praised the help from the PTO parents.

“I always have an abundance of parents who step up and help,” said Ray.

Masucci said fun day is a great way to end the year.

“Our PTO works hard to provide the extra things throughout the year and make the school year memorable. It’s a great way to wrap up the year,” said Masucci.
