Pymatuning Lake drowning victim's body found

ANDOVER — The body of a Pittsburgh man who was presumed to have drowned in Pymatuning Lake was found Wednesday afternoon and turned over to the Crawford County, Pa., coroner.

A state park ranger spotted the victim, identified as Lawrence Elroy Page, 47, floating in the lake near where he had jumped from a rented pontoon boat about 6 p.m. Saturday to help a woman get back aboard, said Daniel Bickel, Pennsylvania’s Pymatuning State Park manager.

Page was not wearing a life jacket when he jumped into 20 feet of water, Bickel said. Sonar, divers and aerial surveillance were used in the daily search for Page since his disappearance in the 26-square-mile lake that straddles the Ohio-Pennsylvania border.
