“Tally’s Folly,SDRq directed by Mary Ruth Lynn, Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown, auditions at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Lanford Wilson’s Pulitzer prize-winningSFlbtwo-character play requires a male in his early 40s who can perform in a German Jewish accent and a female in her early 30s. Both roles are open. Auditionees should be prepared to read from a script. The show will run for two weekends starting Oct. 18 as part of the Griffith-Adler series. 330-788-8739.

“The Princess Who Had No Name,SDRq by Brian D. Taylor and directed by Marlene Menaldi Strollo, Victorian Players Theatre, 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, auditions at 5 p.m. July 7. This fractured fairy tale weaves all popular fairy-tale characters into one story. Adult roles needed include three witches, a fairy godmother, three queens, papa bear and mama bear, king, three good fairies and an evil fairy. Children will be cast in fairy-tale character parts such as Snow White, the Seven Dwarfs, Goldilocks, Cinderella and others. Rehearsals will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting July 8. 330-533-8789.

“The Matchmaker,SDRq by Thornton Wilder and directed by Marlene Menaldi Strollo, Victorian Players Theater, 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, auditions at 7 p.m. July 7. The show, which served as the basis for the musical “Hello Dolly!,” calls for nine men and seven women of various ages. The play will open the 2013-14 theater season and will run Sept. 13-29. 330-533-8789.
