Girard police charge man with breaking and entering at Vallourec Star

A Girard man was arrested and charged with breaking and entering and resisting arrest following an alleged attempted theft of copper from the Vallourec Star facility on State Street at about 2 a.m. Tuesday. A Vallourec Corporation employee called police to report that two men, both dressed in dark clothing, were trying to take copper from a storage lot. When the employee disturbed the men they fled and hid in a wooded area on-site. Police searched the area and found Mark Reese Jr. who began to run again. Police chased Reese on foot and caught up with him. Reese was arrested but the second man escaped on foot and has not yet been identified.
