Wanted for leaving kids while she went to work

NORTH LIMA

A South Avenue woman wanted for leaving her children at home Sunday evening while she went to work surrendered to police Tuesday.

Beaver Township Police Chief Carl Frost said 24-year-old Kacee Moser made arrangements with her lawyer to surrender and was taken immediately to Mahoning County Area Court in Canfield.

She was wanted on two warrants for child endangering and abduction. Police said she went to work at a Western Reserve Road nursing home Sunday evening and left her two children, 3 and 9 months, strapped in their car seats in front of the television.

Police found the children home alone and went to the nursing home to question Moser. Instead, she ran away from the home and was missing.

Mahoning County Children Services took custody of the children.

On Monday, Frost said that a woman had driven Moser to her job at the nursing home Sunday evening but was concerned about her children, so she called police about 8:30 p.m.

Police saw the children through a living-room window and broke the window to get to them.

When police went to the nursing home to question her, a supervisor went to get Moser so other patients would not be disturbed. Moser ran away.

Frost had been in contact with her attorney Tuesday morning. Moser saw her story in The Vindicator and then began to make arrangements to surrender, he said.
