Quaker Steak and Lube, Murphy gas station coming to Bazetta in 2014

BAZETTA — A Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant and a Murphy Oil gas station are coming to the areas around the Elm Road Walmart in the township.

Both are scheduled to open around the beginning of 2014.

Quaker Steak and Lube will build a 5,230-square-foot restaurant and Brickyard Bar between the McDonald’s restaurant and the Four Seasons Car Wash, said Mike Mills, Bazetta Township zoning official and planning director.

The restaurant will be accessible by Millennium Boulevard, which also serves Walmart, and the Heaton North service road, which also provides access to the car wash and Warren Harley Davidson.

The restaurant will have about 238 seats, including about 175 indoor seats and an outdoor patio. The restaurant will be located on a two-acre site.

The Murphy Oil gas station will be operated under the Murphy USA brand, which has gas stations in 23 states. Murphy USA are high-volume, low-cost retail gas stations, primarily located in the parking areas of Walmart Supercenters, according to the Murphy website.

Township officials are in discussions with other companies about additional development in the Elm Road area, especially the vacant land north of Walmart, Mills said.
