State police investigate attempted child abduction near New Castle

Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a man who reportedly attempted to abduct a child.

The incident occurred on Line Street in Perry Township in Lawrence County. A boy was in his yard on a swing set about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when he was approached by an unknown man who attempted to speak to the child. The boy became fearful and attempted to run back to his home.

The man grabbed the child by the back of his shirt, but the boy was able to make it back inside his home, and the man fled through neighboring yards, state police report.

The suspect is described as a 30-40 year old while male between 5-foot 8-inches and 5-foot 10-inches tall. He has a medium build, light or blond hair, a beard and a skeleton tattoo containing three unknown letters on one forearm. The suspect was hearing shorts at a T-shirt that were either red and black or red and white.
