Medicine

Dr. Ndal Mahmud Farah, a 2000 Liberty High School graduate, has completed his anesthesiology residency at Ohio State University’s Medical Center, and is an anesthesiologist in Toledo.

Dr. Farah, a son of Mahmud and Kawther Farah, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo, where he graduated magna cum laude. He earned his doctor of medicine degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University, Rootstown, in 2009.

Kathryn Lynn Yazvac recently earned a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

She is the daughter of Tom and Diane Yazvac of Boardman.

She graduated from Boardman High School in 2006 and earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Youngstown State University, where she was part of the university scholars program.

Dr. Yazvac has accepted an internship with Michigan Veterinary Specialists in Grand Rapids, Mich., where she will pursue a neurology residency.

Law

Joanna Marie Lenefonte, daughter of Joseph and Mary Jo Lenefonte, graduated from Dayton University School of Law in May with a juris doctorate with concentration honors and a pro bono award.

She will take the bar exam in July and plans to pursue a career in criminal law.

She is a 2006 graduate of Boardman High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology with a minor in Italian from Ohio State University.

Kelly Newbrough earned his juris doctorate degree from the University of Akron School of Law. He is the son of James and Jenny Newbrough.

Newbrough will take the Ohio Supreme Court bar exam July 31.

His previous schooling includes a master’s degree from the State University of New York at Potsdam, N.Y., and a bachelor’s degree from Empire State College in New York, both in mathematics.

He intends to enter private practice. He lives in Niles with his wife, Teresa, and daughter, Olivia.

doctorate

Daniel Belyusar earned his doctorate in biomedical science May 29 from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York City.

Belyusar is the son of Judith Worthington of Boardman and William Belyusar of Poland, and grandson of Edward and Isabelle Walko of Poland.

Belyusar is a 1994 graduate of Poland Seminary High School. He has a bachelor’s degree in art from Ohio State University, a master’s degree in art from San Francisco State University and a master’s degree in science, also from the Albert Einstein College.

In July, he begins a position as a postdoctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Transportation and Logistics.

His fiancee is Maureen Daly of Mequon, Wis.
