Mahoning Valley civic, community and business leaders are invited to attend a two-hour presentation and discussion concerning recently released economic research Thursday at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education & Visitor Center at Mill Creek Park’s Fellows Riverside Gardens.
The program, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., concerns a report titled “What Matters to Metros.”
The research examined factors associated with economic growth in 115 mid-sized U.S. metropolitan areas in a post-recession economy.
The project was undertaken by the Fund for Our Economic Future, a collaboration of private and corporate foundations seeking to make Northeast Ohio more economically competitive.
“This research has specific implications for the Mahoning Valley,” said Jeffrey Glebocki, president of the Warren-based Raymond John Wean Foundation, an event co-sponsor. “This is a unique opportunity for community leaders to learn about what these findings tell us about the Youngstown-Warren area,” he added.
Other event co-sponsors are The Trumbull 100, The Youngstown Foundation, and the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio. Reservations still are being accepted, and online registration is available at www.rjweanfdn.org/EventRegistration.aspx.
