Police say 2 guns were stolen during break-in in city

YOUNGSTOWN

Two guns were among several other items taken in a break-in at a home in the 200 block of Gaither Street on Thursday, police said.

According to a police report, officers were called to the home by the homeowner about 3:30 p.m. He told police he had left for work at 7 a.m. and came home after a neighbor called and told him he heard the sound of glass breaking at his home. The homeowner called 911 after seeing his back door kicked in.

A 9 mm and a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun along with a flat-screen television, a camera and several other items were taken, police said.

Man gets 2 years for sex with girl, 15

WARREN

Keith Foley, 37, of Maryland Street Northwest has been sentenced to two years in prison for having unlawful sexual conduct with a 15-year-old female in July 2011.

Foley received his sentenced Wednesday in the courtroom of Judge W. Wyatt McKay of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Pizza driver robbed

WARREN

Another Warren pizza-delivery driver has been robbed in Warren, this time on Lener Avenue Southwest at 9:55 p.m. Thursday.

A 25-year-old man working for Pizza Hut on Mahoning Avenue reported being robbed at gunpoint by two people in front of 542 Lener Avenue SW. The suspects took two pizzas and $15 in cash, then fled on foot, he said.

Pizza-delivery drivers also have been robbed at gunpoint in recent months on Mason Street Northwest, Scott Street Northeast and Porter Street Northeast.

A few hours later, at 12:09 a.m., a 26-year-old woman living in the 700 block of Lener Avenue Southwest reported being robbed at gunpoint by a man while she was using the Redbox machine at Walgreens, 804 West Market Street. She reported nothing was taken from her.

Man suffers severe cut to arm

WARREN

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the injury suffered by a 25-year-old Windham man Thursday afternoon in the 900 block of Tod Avenue Northwest.

Police say the Parkman Road man suffered a severe cut at 5:40 p.m. at the Tod Avenue location.

Police were called there for a gunshot call and found a trail of blood inside the apartment building, then found a bloody shirt in the roadway in the 1200 block of Tod Avenue Northwest.

Man says woman stole his cellphone

A man in town on business claims his cellphone was stolen while he and a co-worker were walking in an empty lot on South Avenue. He told police a car pulled up and the passenger, a young female, asked to use his phone. When he gave it to her, he noticed the car was attempting to drive away with his phone.

The man then leaned through the passenger side window to try and grab it when the driver of the vehicle began to drive away while the man was hanging in the window. The driver and passenger held onto the man for some time before he managed to get away and rolled across the roadway, according to a report. The suspects got away with his phone, and police are still looking for them.
