Police investigating a shooting call late Thursday evening on the South Side arrested a man they say ran from them.
Sir Wolfgang Green, 19, of Summer Street, was arrested on the charges of obstructing justice and resisting arrest at his home about 10:40 p.m.
Police were called to a home in the 600 block of West Warren Avenue where a woman who lives there said her window was shot out. Reports said the window was shattered by a bullet.
The woman told police there were a group of teens at a home on Summer Street who have been firing guns for the last couple of days, and reports said the officers who responded to the call were familiar with the home and know of people who hang out there who use guns.
Officers went to drive over to the home, and Green was standing in the street, reports said. When an officer asked him to stop and talk to him, Green ran away with his hand on his waist like he was holding a gun and ran into his own house, reports said.
Other officers were called to block off the home, and officers got permission to go inside from Green’s mother, reports said. When officers came in, they found Green, but he slammed a steel door onto an officer’s legs and resisted efforts to be handcuffed, reports said. He eventually was taken to the ground and handcuffed.
Reports do not mention if a gun was ever found. Green was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
