YOUNGSTOWN

Police say they found a woman who was beaten in the parking lot of a South Avenue bar early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to Irish Bob’s, 3602 South Ave., where they found a 48-year-old woman who was bleeding heavily, had swollen eyes , and some of her hair ripped out.

Reports said the woman was uncooperative with officers. An employee told police a woman ran inside and said another woman was being assaulted in the parking lot, and when the employee ran outside, a man picked up a purse and drove away.

The woman told police the man’s first name who had beaten her after they saw a call on her cellphone, but she would not tell them the man’s last name, reports said.

Police took pictures of her injuries and also found blood and clumps of her hair in the parking lot. She was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center to be treated for her injuries.
