Police seeking owner of big, friendly, brown dog roaming New Middletown

NEW MIDDLETOWN

New Middletown police are encouraging residents to contact them or the Mahoning County dog warden if they encounter a large dog that has been roaming the village this week.

The dog is a large brown mastiff wearing a collar with tags and a shredded leather leash. The dog has eluded capture and hasn’t been aggressive in encounters with the police and public. His large size, however, may scare some residents.

The owner of the animal is asked to call village police at 330-542-2846.
