Ohio & Erie Canal focus of talk at Warren library Monday

A free presentation about The Ohio and Erie Canal and the Making of Modern Ohio will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Avenue NW.
Kevin F. Kern will discuss how the Ohio and Erie Canal fundamentally changed Ohio through its role in three interlocking “revolutions” — the Market Revolution, Transportation Revolution and Industrial Revolution.
Kern is associate professor of history at the University of Akron. He is co-author of the forthcoming book “Ohio: A History of the Buckeye State.” He is co-founder and co-editor of the “Northeast Ohio Journal of History.”
