Help Mill Creek Park win $100K from Coca-Cola

YOUNGSTOWN

Mill Creek Park is in the running for a $100,000 recreational grant from Coca-Cola as a part of its “Take it to the Park” contest.

April Stanislaw, Mill Creek MetroParks marketing coordinator, said the park district stumbled upon the opportunity to enter the contest when she met a gentlemen at this year’s Get Outdoors’ Day, who then emailed her information about the contest.

Mill Creek Park, one of 8,097 parks participating in the contest, is currently in 18th place, Stanislaw said, but there are three ways community members can gather votes: click here, check in at the park via the smartphone application Four Square, or get active by logging 20 minutes of activity using the application MapMyFitness.

Registration is simple, Stanislaw said. Once the website is accessed, the user registers, searches for Mill Creek Park and votes once a day.

Stanislaw added that five votes can be obtained by checking in using Four Square and 10 votes by logging activity in the park using MapMyFitness.

Coca-Cola will give four prizes away. The first- place prize is the $100,000 recreational grant; second place receives $50,000; third place receives $25,000; and fourth place is a drawing for $15,000.
