Gasser Chair donates chairs to Tyler History Center

The Gasser Chair Company has donated 216 chairs to the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center.

The gift, totaling more than $31,000, is in support of a $6 million fundraising campaign being used to help develop the facility downtown.

“Gasser’s commitment to provide chairs for the Tyler History Center is exemplary,” H. William Lawson, Tyler Center executive director, said in a release. “The Gasser family embodies the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship that is synonymous with the history of the Mahoning Valley.”

The donation includes 200 chairs that will be used for future events in the Paul & Marguerite Thomas Ballroom and the Anne Kilcawley Christman Discovery Gallery. The other 16 chairs will be used in the Public Reading/ Research Room.

The gift increased campaign pledges and gifts to more than $4.83 million, 80 percent of the goal.
