Shepherd of the Valley residents have been learning, creating and painting, and in April, 33 pieces of residents’ artwork and creative writing were entered in the LeadingAge Ohio Regional Resident Forum Art and Writing Show.

Five residents who won at the regional contest May 15 are Sarah Gallagher, Cliff Kline and Josephine Brumbaugh from SOV-Niles, and Marilyn Barnhart and Lucille VanAllen from SOV-Boardman.

The residents’ works will be entered in the statewide show to take place Sept. 10 through 12 in Columbus.

Last year more than 900 residents from across Ohio entered the contest, and VanAllen took overall first place in the special fine art category.
