YOUNGSTOWN

Customers of the Youngstown Water Department were mailed a copy of a report containing data on what’s in their water.

There are about 65,000 laboratory tests per year performed on 125 regulated and unregulated contaminants and 20 secondary contaminants.

No violations occurred in 2012, according to the report.

The annual report is required under federal law.

The city purchases about 18 million gallons of water a day from the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District and sells it to residents of Youngstown, Austintown, Boardman, Canfield township and city, Liberty, Mineral Ridge, Girard and North Jackson through 750 miles of pipelines.

If you have any questions or want the report, contact the Youngstown Water Department engineering department at 330-742-8765.
