61 women artists will display works at YWCA

YOUNGSTOWN
The YWCA of Youngstown’s 31st Women Artists: A Celebration Art Show will take place June 22 through July 19 at the Y, 25 W. Rayen Ave.
On display will be 125 pieces of art created by 61 women, including paintings, drawings, photographs, sculpture, fiber, ceramics and metal works.

Peggy Cox, professor of art, and Summer Zickefoose, visiting assistant professor of art, both from Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa., are co-jurors for the show.
A preview party will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. June 22 at the YWCA and will feature music, a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres and awards. Admission to the preview party will be $35, or $10 for students with a valid ID.
Tickets can be purchased in advance or by calling the YWCA at 330-746-6361. They also will be sold at the door.
A closing party July 19 will feature a People’s Choice Award given for the most public votes. Voting will be open June 22 through July 14.
The free exhibit will be closed July 4, 6 and Sundays, except July 14.
Cheryl Deibel and Kathryn Infante are co-chairwomen for the event. Home Savings Charitable Foundation is the corporate sponsor.
