They’re up for Broadway’s highest honor tonight (the show airs at 8 p.m. on CBS), but these Tony nominees began their careers on TV:

v Tom Hanks (actor, play, “Lucky Guy”): Playing a man who had to pretend to be a woman, Hanks co-starred (with Peter Scolari) on “Bosom Buddies” (1980-82).

v Judith Light (featured actress, play, “The Assembled Parties”): On “Who’s the Boss?” (1984-92), she starred as Angela Bower, a high-powered divorcee who hires a “manny” (Tony Danza) to watch her kids.

v Andrea Martin (featured actress, musical, “Pippin”): Part of the brilliant Canadian comedy ensemble on “SCTV Network” (1981-83).

v Tony Shalhoub (featured actor, play, “Golden Boy”): A decade before taking on his best-known role as the obsessive-compulsive detective on “Monk” (2002-09), Shalhoub had a supporting role on the comedy “Wings” (1991-1997) as Antonio, a hopelessly romantic cabdriver.

v Cicely Tyson (actress, play, “The Trip to Bountiful”): Got to go way back for this one, but Tyson was third-billed in “East Side/West Side” (1963-64), a critically praised drama that starred George C. Scott as a dedicated social worker. She played his secretary, Jane Foster.

Tony Awards (8 p.m., CBS): Neil Patrick Harris returns to host “The 67th Annual Tony Awards,” honoring the best of Broadway. The musical “Kinky Boots” leads the pack with 13 nominations.

“GAME OF THRONES” SEASON FINALE (9 p.m., HBO): We’re still recovering from the brutal bloodbath of the so-called “Red Wedding.” So it hardly seems fair that Season 3 of this epic fantasy now rushes to a close. Of course, we have some burning questions: Will the remaining Starks be able to survive? Can the Lannisters retain their grip on the Iron Throne? And what will bratty Joffrey do next to tick us off?

“Falling Skies” (9 p.m., TNT): We keep waiting for Chicken Little to show up on “Falling Skies.” Instead, all we get are aliens — or “skitters.” Season 3 begins tonight.

Time Warner offers home-control system

Columbus

Time Warner Cable will launch its home management and security system, IntelligentHome, in the Youngstown market this month.

IntelligentHome gives homeowners more control over their home, providing security, automation and energy management.

The wireless system lets customers remotely access and control their home security settings, lighting and thermostats and view real-time video of their home from a PC or mobile device.

“Imagine you’re away on vacation and realize that you left the thermostat set at 72 degrees or left a closet light on. IntelligentHome lets you make adjustments remotely using a PC or smartphone,” said Adam Mayer, spokesman for the service. “You can also temporarily disarm the system so a neighbor can come in to check the house or even watch live video of your pets at home.”
