Help a 6-month-old boy at June 23 fundraiser

LAKE MILTON

A spaghetti-dinner fundraiser to help the family of Maverick J. Phillips will be 4 to 8 p.m. June 23 at the American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave. The 6-month-old boy has a rare disorder called craniosynstosis, which prevents his brain from developing properly and causes brain compression, which leads to feeding and breathing problems and development delays.

Maverick, the son of Cristie and Gregory Phillips of Lake Milton, faces a four-hour reconstructive surgery July 24 at Akron Children’s Hospital.

Funds raised will help with medical and travel costs.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 3 to 11, and are available at the door or by calling 330-506-0529.
