Learn how to identify wildflowers

The Mercer County Conservation District will teach tools to identify wildflowers during a program from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Munnell Run Farm, 753 Greenville Road.
The workshop will provide an introductory course on identifying wildflowers native to western Pennsylvania.
The program is divided into two sessions. The first session will introduce techniques and tools used to identify wildflowers with the assistance of the environmental educators. The second session will allow participants to independently apply the techniques to identify flowers they will collect.
Cost is $5, and participants are asked to register by Tuesday.
A summer tree identification course also will be hosted at 6:30 p.m. June 26 at Munnell Run Farm. Strategies to determine common conifers and deciduous trees by utilizing simple observation techniques will be shared during the program. Registration for the tree program is required by June 25.
