African American Achievers Fest continues through Sunday

WARREN
The 29th Annual African American Achievers Association Festival began Friday on Courthouse Square.
It brings food, entertainment, rides and other events to Warren through Sunday.
One of the main events is a parade that begins at noon today and travels north along Main Avenue from Grace African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1137 Main Ave. SW, and ends just south of Courthouse Square.
It features floats and many other entries, said Frank Parker, association vice president.
Rides in place around the square cost $1.50 per ticket with most rides requiring two tickets; a book of 25 tickets costs $23; or an arm band good for all day is $16.
The schedule of events:
Today
Noon to 4 p.m.: 3rd Annual Health Fair.
2 to 3 p.m.: Obama line dance at the Health Fair Tent.
3 to 6:30 p.m.: Talent show.
6:30 to 7 p.m.: Line dancing with Sharp Entertainment.
7:15 to 8:15 p.m.: Craig Robinson and Co. Band of Warren.
8:30 to 10:30 p.m.: Recording artist Michael Austin of Warren.
Sunday
3 to 7 p.m.: La’Mon Howard and Co. present local and out-of-state choirs, vocalists, praise and worship, mimes.
8 to 10 p.m.: Jazz band and music provided by Sharp Entertainment.
